Welcome to The Multimedia Player 1.0 for Windows 3.1x and Windows 95
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This readme file will walk you through the process of installing the Multimedia
Player. Please press F1 or select Contents on the Help menu of the Multimedia
Player to get on-line help.
Installing The Multimedia Player
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The MMP10.EXE file extracted the following files:
MMPLAYER.EXE Required executable file
MMPLAYER.HLP Required Windows help file
README.TXT Read-me file
FILE_ID.DIZ Program description file
Please follow these instructions to create an icon (or a shortcut) for the
program:
Windows 3.1x users
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Select the Accessories program group.
2. Select New from the File menu.
3. Click on the button labeled "OK".
4. Click on the button labeled "Browse".
5. Select The Multimedia Player exectuble file (MMPLAYER.EXE) where ever you've
stored it (for example: C:\PROGRAM\MMPLAYER).
6. Enter "The Multimedia Player" in the Desciption field.
7. Click on the button labeled "OK".
Now you have an icon for the Multimedia Player in your Accessories folder. Just
double-click on the Multimedia Player icon to launch the program.
Windows 95 users
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Right-click on the Start button on the taskbar.
2. Select Explore. The Windows 95 Explorer will now launch.
3. Double-click on the folder "Program" (or where ever you store your
shortcuts).
4. Right-click on the right pane.
5. Select Create Shortcut.
6. Click on the button labeled "Browse".
7. Select The Multimedia Player exectuble file (MMPLAYER.EXE) where ever
you've stored it (for example: C:\PROGRAM\MMPLAYER).
8. Click on the button labeled "OK".
9. Click on the button labeled "Next".
10. Enter "The Multimedia Player" in the field that appears.
11. Click on the button labeled "Finish".
Now you have a shortcut to the Multimedia Player in your Startmenu. Click on
the Start button on the taskbar. Select Program and then The Multimedia Player
to launch the program.
You can make The Multimedia Player the default program to play media files by
following the following steps:
1. Start the Windows 95 Explorer.
2. Look up a media file that you'd like to play using the Multimedia Player
(for example a .MID file).
3. Press and hold the SHIFT button while clicking on the right mouse button
on a media file.
4. Select Open with...
5. Select Other...
6. Choose the Multimedia Player.
7. Make sure that the checkbox below the list is checked.
8. Press OK.
